Strengthening the educational project Angel Mackinson

Angel Mackinson born as a result of the need to create an education center in one of the most vulnerable areas of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, known as Waf Jeremie, after the earthquake of February 2010. We work to strengthen this education project that benefits more than 400 children and adolescents. Our regional partner in this project is: Misión Belén. Watch the video of this project here.

435 children from vulnerable and extreme poverty arrive daily and a future increase is expected. The problem is that they don’t have the tools to develop an education model and this presents a significant deficit in pedagogical management in institutional organization, training, and school coexistence.

We are working to support the development processes of children ages 6 months to 10 years. They attend the school, located in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince. This project includes workshops and training on new methodologies and learning strategies; supporting classrooms through educational modeling; monitoring the applicability of the workshops; and holding meetings of educational leaders with other schools in Port-au-Prince.

This project benefits 435 children from 6 months to 10 years old. It also trains 43 coaches and teachers of the establishment.
