“Building Roads”: Paving life skills

Colombia

Problem

Boys, girls, adolescents, and youths with disabilities and motor problems cannot verbally communicate and do not have many alternatives. This means that they are more likely to live without meaningful interactions which leads to aggressive behavior and high stress levels. Therefore, it is imperative to connect them with the world and establish connections with their peers for a better quality of life.

Project

We wish that girls, boys, adolescents, and youths with mild, moderate, severe, cognitive and/or mental disabilities create their own projects based on their needs and interests. As tools for inclusion, these projects would advance assertive communication, empathy, conflict resolutions, interpersonal relationships, and self-awareness among the beneficiaries.

Comunidad

60 adolescents and youths.
