Social Innovation: America Solidaria is proud to partner with Atlas Corps to provide a service-year fellowship in the United States

Estados Unidos
Last Thursday on March 13 the period for applying for this pilot aimed at professional volunteers from Latin America and the Caribbean opened.

Together with the renowned American organization Atlas Corps, starting from September this year, this new program will look to help improve the quality of life of more than 46 million Americans currently living in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. More than 100 non-profit and/or grassroots organizations will be accessible to applicants who are finally selected.

The implementation of this pilot is a great challenge in terms of international cooperation, which has traditionally been from the countries of the “north” to “south”, to make way for a new perspective and way of relating to one another across the nations of the Americas.

The program will last 12 months, during which professionals bring their knowledge and professional experience to local U.S. based non-profits, preferably working in the areas of education, health and productive development, benefiting the children and youth of the country. Today there are over 16 million children living in poverty in the United States, representing 22% of the total population according to the National Center for Children in Poverty.

If you think that it is possible for an entire continent to transform into a more just and supportive America, apply today to the Atlas Corps – America Solidaria Program in the United States or share this great opportunity with all those who you think would be interested.

For more information and applications please visit our website or contact our America Solidaria team in Washington DC. There is not a lot of time left to apply. The deadline is April 15.
